About a week ago the cold water pressure in my kitchen tap all but disappeared. The flow is now very slow. The hot is fine and both the hot and cold in all other faucets in the house are fine as well. The kitchen tap is a "mixer type" (one handle for both the hot and cold combined). My first thought was the cartridge is shot. The set screw that holds the faucet lever in place broke off so that I could not remove the handle to get at the cartridge. OK so now my repair gets more expensive and I replaced the entire tap… I still have the same issue! My house is relatively new as it was built in 2006 and I have pex piping through out. I am hooked up to city water supply and am not on a well. I do not think there is a issue with scale or rust build up in the lines as pex is plastic. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this issue? The only thing I can think of is that there is some type of blockage in the pipe below my kitchen sink. Does this make sense to anyone or has anyone heard of this issue before? If this is a blockage how would I go about clearing the pipe? I don’t want to start chopping pipes out and rep[lacing them if I can avoid it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify… I have already replaced the entire faucet. The cold water is still doing the same thing that it did with the last faucet… very low pressure and far less flow than the hot water. I have tried disconnecting the cold water under the sink (at the under sink shut off valve) and letting this run into a pail. The pressure was weak at this point also. I was able to stop the flow with my thumb over the end of the pipe. I also tried leaving the cold water open at the tap and tapping on the waterline at every connection. Nothing has even remotely helped so far. If I don’t figure this out in the next few days I may need to resort to calling a plumber… does anyone know a reasonably priced plumber that covers Markham (north of Toronto)? I was thinking of cutting the waterline (after shutting off the main water of course) and hooking up a compressor but I was not too sure about this… I don’t want to make myself a Darwin candidate! Any ideas or thoughts on the matter a
